My system has developed the following problem when I start up. I now get the
following messages:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MsiInstaller
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11706
Date: 27/03/2006
Time: 18:24:36

Computer:
Description:
Product: Sonic Update Manager -- Error 1706. An installation package for the
product Sonic Update Manager cannot be found. Try the installation again
using a valid copy of the installation package 'UM.MSI'.

Product: Sonic Update Manager -- Configuration failed.

I get rid of them by using the Task Manager but would br grateful if anyone
could explain what the underlying problem is and how I go about sorting it
out. There doesn't appear to be any problem with the Sonic program, it works
ok. Prior to Sonic I had these similar messages with Corel Photo Shop as
follows:

Event Type: Error

Event Category: None

As I did not want that program I removed it from my computer. the error
messages then transferred to Sonic. All these programes came with the
computer when I bought it having been loaded by Dell when they assembled it.

I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
