MSI Geforce NX6200TC-TD with 256MB - Wrong identification of memor

Hi,

I have the following spec:
1. Graphics card: MSI NX6200TC-TD128E with 256MB of memory.
2. Motherboard: MSI 945PL Neo.
3. Operating system: Windows vista ultimate.

When using both the driver given by default with windows and the driver
given by MSI for windows vista, I get in the adapter tab that I have 128 MB
of dedicated memory where there should be 256MB.

What can I do to get back the "lost" 128MB?

Thanks.

Kasper.

Kasper,

Are you sure the card has 256 MB of memory on-board? The "TD128E" part of
the card number indicates, to me at least, that it has 128 MB of memory
on-board. The balance or 128 MB of memory is shared with your system, giving
you a total of 256 MB. Without actually looking it up, that's how I read
what you posted.

Just to add to Freedy's comments in this thread, everywhere I looked on a
list that came up when I searched this card on Google said it was a 128MB
card that supported up to 256MB. Perhaps that means you can add another
128MB of RAM to the card. Nonetheless, the card appears to come standard
with 128MB of RAM.

You can't. You never had 256MB.
Freddy and Michael are correct. Your card has only 128 meg onboard and
"borrows up to another 128 meg of your system memory as needed. The TC
stands for TurboCache, indicating a video card that uses system memory to
supplement limited on board memory.
You get what you pay for.

You have a TC (Turbo cache) video card which probably has 128MB of onboard
memory and you are using 128MB of system memory to the total of 256.
You can probably check in your BIOS for exactly how it is currently
configured.

Hi,
Thanks for all the comments.
It is my mistake, when I bought the card, the catalog said
NX6200TC-TD128E(256MB) so I assumed that It has 256MB on board and that TC
provides shared memory above the 256MB.
Now when I look at MSI website, I see that all the "NX6200TC-TD128..."
models have 128MB of memory on board.

Thanks a lot,

Kasper.
