Hard OCP have reviewed the MSI GeForce GTX 780 LIGHTNING Video Card, but is it worth the hefty price tag?

"The MSI GeForce GTX 780 LIGHTNING is based on the GeForce GTX 780 GPU. It is factory overclocked to 980MHz base clock and 1033MHz boost clock. This is higher than the GALAXY GTX 780 HOF was set at. The memory runs at 6GHz. The heatsink and fan have been re-designed on this LIGHTNING version from past LIGHTNING model video cards from MSI. It is updated, sleeker, and now sports three fans with two fan zones.

Everything about this video card is customized by MSI. There is so much new, different, and better about it that there is too much to go into detail about. We will hit the main points, but for all the information the complete PDF slide we are posting at the bottom of this page will go into much greater detail.

Here are the major points. The design has changed as indicated. The heatsink and fans are completely new this generation. There are two fan controls, one controlling the right and left side fans, and one controlling the middle for independent control. The two side fans are 90mm and the middle fan is 80mm..."
