Ihave windows XP Pro SP2 and for some reason it does not recognize msi file
types any longer. Does any one know how I can get my system back to being
able to run msi files?

Thanks.

What do you mean that it doesn't recognize .msi files? What did you try to
do, what happened, and were there any error messages?

Without knowing more try the .msi file association fix at Doug Knox' site.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to install a program and the only error
message I got was that "windows could not find <program name> .msi and asked
if I wanted to browse to the correct program type or search the internet. I
did a search on my system for other msi files just to make sure it wasnt a
problem with that file only and I received the same error when I tried to
double click on a different msi file. Anyway I did try the Doug Knox file fix
as you sugested and it did work so thanks for your help, I didnt think it was
going to be that easy.
