I have 2 compys that are xp pro through a d-link 4 port router. I setup in
the network connections page "home network" for both computers one named
nforce2 and the other is called nforce3 on the network. When i have files
shared from both compys i then check my network places. The nforce2 compy can
get ifiles just fine from the other computer but when i try the nforce3 to
the other computer it states something bout dont have rights, cant connect,
somethin like that. I had this problem before and dont remember how to fix.
Something bout regedit though. Please help. Thank You

Its more likely to be firewall problems

Turn off your windows firewalls (set by default to ON when you run the
network wizard) on both PCs and see if it works then. If it does its a
firewall setting if it don't try unsharing / re-sharing the files.

How did you create this Network? Did you do it manually or did you use
MS Network Wizard?

I suggest use MS Network Wizard and make sure you have either a USB
flash drive or floppy drive to copy the settings on it for the other
PC. You could use XP Cd instead but it is better to use a floppy drive
so that you have only one file to click on!

By default, the Wizard will create full access to Files and printers.
the folder that will have full access is ShareDocs.

If you want to share other folders then you need to create access rights
by Right-Clicking on the folder, PROPERTIES, Sharing.

It is the middle bit you want --- to make sure it is available to the
other PC.
