Mshome is not accessible!

I ham attempting to setup a new network (using the XP wizard) for a friends
home between 3 computers. 2 laptops (mine and his) and his PC. The trouble I
am having is that I keep getting this message "Mshome is not accessible. You
might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.", on
the PC, even though that is where I am setting the network up.
So effectively it is saying that the network you have just setup on this PC
is not accessible by you because you don't have the right permissions etc. It
doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Please help me! I'm already loosing my hair naturally, this will see the end
of all hairdressers.

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

Check that NetBT is Enabled on all computers.

What OS does each computer run?
# XP Home?
# XP Pro, with Simple File Sharing Enabled?
# XP Pro, with SFS Disabled?
# Other (which?)?

Or, look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net
config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):
