msg disappears while typing in outlook 2003

while typing a reply msg. to an incoming email my reply msg will
disappear leaving me with just the email i was replying to, any ideas?

Got the same problem - seeme to be related to space bar or CR.
Turn off Word as default editor. This should make the problem go away, but I am not sure of the cause.
