On a Win XP SP2 box. I use a MSFT Office keyboard that has Intelletype Pro
Software. I got a box lately that it was missing a .dll oddly named
MSKBcoin.dll that was in the Sys 32 folder already so rather than spend a
lot of time analyzing I just reinstalled --keyboard works fine. Browsing
and selecting the .dll already on my HD did nothing.
The message though interests me and I was hoping someone could shed
light--until I did the reinstall (nothing amiss in device manager) I got
this message about the *MSFT* Intellitype Pro software:
MSFT Office Keyboard (USB) has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its
compatibility with Windows XP. Continuing installation of this software may
impair or destabilize the system. MSFT strongly recommends that you stop
installation of this software and contact the hardware vendor for software
that has passed Windows Logo testing. The hardware vendor is MSFT. The
keyboard is featured on their hardware site.
Windows XP is made by MSFT.
The Keyboard is made by MSFT.
The Keyboard software is made by MSFT.
So why has it not passed "Windows Logo testing?" I've been using it for 3
years and it has no negative impact on the system and I like the keyboard
except having to clean it.
