MSDMX.OCX Errors When on Web Pages With Streaming Media

Whenever I go to a website that has streaming media, I always encounter the
following error:

Explorer has caused an error in MSDXM.OCX.
Explorer will now close.

If you continue to experience problems,
try restarting your computer.

I figured the problem might be with Windows Media Player, but during
re-installatation of WMP 7.1, installation would always freeze during the
installation of "Windows Media Player Legacy Support."

Any ideas on what to do?
