MSDE Merge Modules with vb .net

S

Sebastian

I'm trying to use the MSDE Merge Modules with my vb .net
application. Following the instructions on
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?
url=/library/en-us/distsql/distsql_8yeq.asp

At the bottom it states I need to edit to msi file to set
the database properties. However, I used Orta as suggested
to edit the msi file and none of the external properties
exist. Do I have to create them or should they be there?
If so why might they not be there?

I'm assuming this could be the cause of the problem I get
when trying to install my application with the merge
modules added. Which states: "The installation was
interupted before " my app " could be installed. You need
to restart the installer." When I remove the modules from
the package it installs fine.

Any idea if the first problem is related this one?

Any input on this problem would be very appreciated. I've
been racking my brain on this one.

Thanks,

Seb
