Hi davcon,

In general, the fix is to delete MSASCui.exe.manifest, if found.

Be sure to delete just the manifest file--not the actual executable itself.

Here are the steps as Steve Dodson posted them:
-------------------
start -> run -> c:
Press Enter
Browse to c:\ program files
then Windows Defender
Left Click on MSASCui.exe.manifest and press the delete key on your keyboard
Select yes to delete the file.

Please be certain that you are deleting the file suffixed .exe.manifest
(i.e. a double suffix!)

What's the exact error message that you get?

and why are you attempting this operation--did you get the error that
started the thread you are quoting?
