hello, i am using the microsoft configuration utility and
have all startup items disabled, as well as selective
startup. Recently the load startup items has been
mysteriously checking itself and loading programs I do
not need nor want running. Please if anybody knows how to
fix this, respond for i am in dire straights and hate
waiting for my comp to load. I am running win xp pro,
655 or so MB SDRAM, 1.3 gig AMD X86 system.

Adam;
"all startup items disabled"?
Not really possible or practical since some are essential if you want
Windows to run securely.
Be sure you are not disabling the wrong ones.
MSCONFIG is not the best place to permanently disable an application.
Some will recreate the entry if it is disabled.
Go to the application itself and disable the application, that is the
preferred method.
