msconfig shuts off by itself

when I try to use msconfig, it shuts off by itself like its on a timer. It
stays on for about 5 seconds then disappears. Doesn't give me enough time
to do anything.

I posted this about a month and the general consensus was that I had a
virus.

I run the latest definitions in NAV2004. I run Ad-aware daily with the
latest rev. Same for CW-Shredder.

Any ideas?

if not:-then reinstall from XP CD:-

Expand -R X:\I386\MSCONFIG.EX_ Z:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\BINARIES
