msconfig/regedit terminates prematurely

Any ideas why msconfig and regedit terminate shortly after
they start? I have a similiar problem with Norton
AntiVirus during the running of a LiveUpdate.

This behavior, which also often applies to the Task Manager, is
typical behavior of more than one virus/worm, the three below being
the most common:

W32.Klez

W32.Spybot.Worm
