Msconfig question

Is there a way to remove unwanted items in the msconfig/startup list?
I've looked in the startup folders and the items I want to remove are not
there. Where else can I look to remove these things?

Lorne,

First, disable the unwanted items from the startup list. The items will be
moved here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]

Hi,

They're in the system registry, you will find them in these locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Remove the unwanted listings by deleting the corresponding strings. Please
note that working in the registry can be dangerous, so proceed with caution.
Unchecked (disabled entries) have no effect on the boot time, so there is no
real need to remove the listing unless it is a leftover from some program
that was removed.

Greetings --

No, it doesn't, as Win2K wasn't designed for the use of MSConfig
and doesn't have the equivalent key. Instead, using WinXP's MSConfig
on a Win2K machine leaves orphaned registry entries that need to be
cleaned out manually, after searching for them.
