I understand that MSBB.EXE is an Adware program. Is
there any way to stop it from entering my system (I have
a PowerLink connection through Adelphia)?

To prevent adware from entering your computer, be very careful what you
click on while using the Internet. In particular, don't install file sharing
programs, don't install anything without reading the EULA, and be very
suspicious of free offers.
