MSAS won't run scan

I have windows 2000. My beta MSAS will not run a scan.
Everytime I tried, it just goes to a blank MSAS window. I
am currently having a desktop hijacker spyware on my
computer. Could this possibiy be the reason that the MSAS
won't run a scan. I already tried running it in windows
safe mode and it makes no difference. Please help!

Am I reporting my problem to the right place so MS will
take a look at their software to see if it is really effective.

Please submit a suspected spyware report to spynet (tools->submit suspected
spyware report). Once that has completed, please reboot into safemode and
run a full antivirus and spyware scan to see if that helps.
