Why can't MSAS connect to the Internet? It downloaded fine and runs fine
but I can't get any updates. I get a red warning that says it can't detect
an Internet connection. Hey, here I am! The other programs have no problem
updating and finding the connection to the Internet.

Are you using a proxy to connect to the internet ?
If that's the case, you may try running the command
"proxycfg -u" to import the HTTP settings from IE so
that MSAS will use such settings

This also can be caused by a software firewall that blocks MSAS processes
from accessing the Internet. And by setting the Internet Explorer to work
off-line (in the File menu of IE), too.
