MSAS and Dial-up connections

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem (as most people are
lucky enough to have access to broadband connections today) but there seems
to be a problem with MSAS trying to connect to the internet immediatly after
windows starts up to check for updates. I haven't found a way to correct this
apart from turning off auto-update, so please have a look if it's possible to
change this to "wait until already connected" as many of us still use
dial-up...

Adjusting your automatic updates for when you are online would do the trick.

Already tried that, but with no success. Might have something to do with all
ather connections, such as LAN and Bluetooth LAN... Wouldn't be the first
time I've had conflicts with multiple connections, but I'll have a look and
report back if I find anything of interest. Thanks for your reply.

btw, I don't think, even if it's impossible to be 100% sure about it, that
this has anything to do with spyware already installed as I've checked with
plenty of different programs even before I installed MSAS and haven't found
anything yet...

Your welcome - thanks for the follow-up.

Multiple LAN connections may be a problem, up to you to determine if your
set-up is the cause.

MSAS Beta1 should not be your *sole* stand-alone Spyware scanner.
I don't want to plug others here, have a look at this MVP's "parasite" URL;
(hint, look at this site for other means to protect your surfing experience) <w>
