ctrl F = FIND. I believe I have overwritten this shortcut when
experimenting with macros. Can someone tell me how to get this
shortcut back to working as ctrl F = FIND?

Tools > Customize > Commands > keyboard - assign CTRL+F to EDIT > EDITFIND

And when you do that, see what Word says Ctrl+F is "Currently assigned to,"
then go to that command/macro and unassign it.
