MS Word why "not available" dictionary prompt?

Soon after beginning work in Microsoft Word lately, I'm getting an error
message: "The custom dictionary C:\Documents and Settings\DYork\Application
Data\....is not available. [OK button]"

I think this started soon after I'd installed a new application on my system.

No big deal, but I did add words to my "custom dictionary" during spell
checks sometimes. How can I get back to the better days?

I have done a Windows Search of my entire hard drive, with "*.dic" and again
with ".dic" entered in the "all or part of the file name" field. No finds
resulted at all. I have expected that some default dictionary would come to
exist if I just saved new words as I'd done in the past, but this hasn't
proved to be true. The problem continues as I first described here. I do
have an Office XP program CD. What should I do?

Data\ to be found.
This seems like a significant fact to add.

In Windows XP, this is a Hidden folder. You must either display hidden files
and folders or explicitly tell Windows to search them

C:\Documents and Settings\Donny\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof . Assuming
"Donny" in place of "DYork" is not alarming, what should I do next?

It would appear that Word is looking for your Custom.dic in a different
profile. Have you changed the name of your profile? Clearly, if Word is
looking for Custom.dic in C:\Documents and Settings\DYork\Application
Data\Microsoft\Proof and it actually resides in C:\Documents and
Settings\Donny\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof, then it's not going to find
it. I should think you might be able to change the path using Tools |
Options | Spelling and Grammar: Custom Dictionaries... You may have to
remove the one with the incorrect path and add the one with the new path.

It would appear that Word is looking for your Custom.dic in a different
