ms word 2007 part of letters missing

The top portion of letters I type in ms word 2007 are not there. The top 1/2
of capitolized letters and top 1/4 0f lower case letters arn't there. How
come and how to fix.

Sounds like the Line Height in Format Paragraph is set to an exact figure.
Set it to Single.

Because the line spacing in that particular paragraph Style is set to
"Exactly" with a value that's too small for the font size. In Format >
Paragraph (Ctrl-M, or the tiny arrow at the bottom right corner of the
Paragraph panel on the Home tab), change the line spacing to either
Exactly a bigger number, or Single.

Hopefully you're using Styles, meaning you should Modify the Paragraph
Format of the Style(s) involved -- Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S, and right-click
on the name of the style.
