MS Word 2007 "Form"

I have a fill-in form created with Word 2007 and saved as a ".docx". It is a
very small file (28 kb). I uploaded it to my site with FrontPage. When I
click on the link to the form on my site, it wants to open the form as a
".zip" file. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there any way to just
have the user open it as a ".docx"?

You're assuming your users will have Word 2007?

A better way to do this would be with a fillable PDF form...if you have
Acrobat (not just the reader) or another program capable of creating a
fillable PDF. Output your form as a pdf then edit it so it will have
fillable fields. This way anyone with the Acrobat Reader (almost everyone
does) will be able to fill in your form, save it and email it back to you,
or print it out.

Or are you wanting to do something else, perhaps create an online form with
FP??

Thanks, Rob.

Yes, I'm assuming users will have Word 2007. That's ok. Unfortunately, I
don't have Acrobat to make a fillable PDF form. So, any ideas why the
fillable Word 2007 form wants users of the site to open a zip file when they
click on the link, even though I loaded it as a .docx?

Cheers.

Try going to Microsoft's website, to Updates click on Custom and optional
updates for .NET framework.

and may have to have your host add .docx as a valid mime type for your web.

The .docx file *is* a zip file. You need to have a correct mime type on
the server for .docx. Better still, if you must have a Word file, save
it as a Word 97-2003 file (.doc) which can be accessed by anyone running
most versions of Word.

Thanks. All I needed was to add the mime type for .docx and all was fine.
Much appreciated !
