MS Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0

I installed the mouse above on my Dell Inspiron 1501, and have noticed that
whenever I leave it idle long enough for the MS installed screensavers to
come on, moving the mouse will 99.9% of the time, cause MS Outlook to quit
immediately.
I've changed Screensavers, but same conditions. If I leave Word/Excel open
and Outlook minimized, & screensaver comes on, Word/Excel will quit, leaving
Outlook alone. It will close the open program to close, always.

Batteries are fine in the mouse. Parameters in the Mouse are set to NOT be
used in minor programs (Word/Excel/Weather Watcher, etc), only Windows.

That's interesting that you've tied it to the mouse (and or driver) I had a
desktop machine that did the same thing. I just got in the habit of opening
a new explorer window prior to leaving it which worked for the most part. I
eventually reinstalled the operating system.

Initially, I used the mouse from my previous Dell (Inspiron 1100), and no
glitches. Went to wally-world and they had a sale on, and picked that MS W.O.
M. 2.0 on sale and now the rest is history.
I checked the Device Manager and there are NO conflicts anyplace.
The mouse is plugged in on the USB port by itself, i.ie., not on my USB 7
port device.
So the only the only answer is that its a Dell interface glitch with the AMD
Turion64 system??????

Can you verify by uninstalling? Might be a different cause with like
symptoms. Mine was a desktop system.
