IF you are replying to me, and I don't know BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T QUOTE! It is
usenet custom to quote at least SOME oif the post you are replying to. A
large number of people set their newsreaders to show only unread posts,
especially in a very busy group, and it is a complete waste of time to trawl
through read posts to find the one you are replying to.

Read these:

Worms & Trojans still come under the broader term of virus, and for the
inexperienced, it's better to use one term... Oh, and as for it not causing
problems on the computer, tell that to the people who've been infected and
then immediately had problems with crashing, AV software getting disabled
and whatever... And just because 1 particular worm doesn't seem to have a
damaging payload, doesn't mean that variants won't...

Oh ah as for AV software... Well unfortunately they can only really be
effective in a reactive state rather than a proactive.... New virii come out
faster than the AV people can release updates.... Best to be CAREFULL what
you're opening as well!

Thank you for the explanation. I actually don't do that, so I didn't know why you needed it quoted.
I may start doing that (showing only unread messages). I turned off the quoting thing in OE because
I don't like it in email, but I guess I can just delete that every time. There should be separate
settings for news and email. I'll start quoting now. Now the question is, should you top-post or
bottom-post?

Oh God!! You started it now!! :) This question usually brings on a
long thread about the merits of top postingvs. bottom posting.

Some perfer bottom posts as it keeps the replies in chronological order
and is easier to read. Especially if you've missed the beginning of the
thread and are catching up.

Other perfer Top-posting as the response it right there at the top and
you don't have scroll through ( possibly ) pages of text that you've
already read.

And still others just start typing whereever their news reader places
te cursor.

Either way, You're gonna piss off somebody. So, just use whichever you
perfer.

And why do you say infected? This is not a virus that really infects. It
doesn't damage files, just mails itself everywhere. And if everybody has
antivirus like they should, then there wouldn't be a problem.

Stephen

and, If everyone obeyed Laws like they should, We wouldn't have
Murders, Theft, Drug problems, etc....

I was actually in an argument about this. My comment was sort of a retorical question to end the
conversation.
