Hi All:
I think I've found a bug in Vista. Does MS offer a reward for helping
them refine the O.S.? Like a million dollars or maybe just including a fix
in the first service pack? LOL

You're blowing smoke out your butt. Who from Microsoft said that?

You want them to go out of business?

Heck, at a million dollars a pop for reporting bugs that would in
short order bankrupt the world's richest man, Billy Gates. ;-)

They don't even acknowledge "bugs" that get reported by people, not
even thanks, reward? You got to be kidding. Microsoft has a long
running policy of oh, its a undocumented feature, not a bug.

OK all:
I give up on the million dollar reward.........how can I just report the
bug?
I like to have a couple of shortcuts on my desktop to frequently visited
websites and when I go to "Organize Favorites" in IE7 and right-click a
favorite and tell it to "send a shortcut to desktop" ....IT DOESN'T WORK! I
tried switching from a Pentium D processor to a Core2 Duo, I installed a
PCIE graphics card and upped my overall "Experience" rating to over 5.0,
doubled my DDR2 memory from 1024 MBs to 2048 Mbs and no matter what I
do.......no shortcuts for my favorite websites! There is a possibility that
I did something wrong.....but what LOL!

While you are at the web page you want a shortcut for, go to File | Send |
Shortcut To Desktop

If your file menu is not permanently displayed, press the alt key first,
then do the above.

Yes, they've provided FREE software to anyone that finds a new bug in a
released (RTM) product. Contact them through the Microsoft main number and
ask for the Defect Department and then report your Bug - if they validate
it you will be given the option of several free MS products.

NOT.

Hi Leythos:
Already tried that.........that extension is always busy! :)

I just tired that and it worked for me just fine using Home Premium.

Cheers, Dave

You must not have seen the :-) after my comment. IT's called a J O K E !!!!

I use to work at Microsoft and they have NEVER created a product with out
bugs !

There aren't any bugs in Vista! - According to Microsoft, so don't even
try :-)

heh
from Elliot Carver in 007's "The World is Not Enough":

Carver- "Mr Jones are we ready to release our new software?"
Jones- "Yes sir, as requested, it's full of bugs. Which means people will be
forced to upgrade for years."
Carver- "Outstanding."

Hi DoubleDAZ:

I think I figured out what might be causing the failure to put
a shortcut for my favorite websites on the desktop. All my favorites were
copied over my home network from the favorites file on another computer and
when I click on them they open ok but perhaps you can't make a shortcut until
the site has been visited on the vista computer. Just a guess. Thanks for
letting me know it should work on a correctly run computer! :)

Idiot! This is a satirical thread. You make me mad.
