Running under win XP cannot open..error message "MS Paint caused an error
and needs to close etc.." no more details except the usual send error
report.

Couldnt find a NG for this software so if anyone here has heard of this
problem please advise.

Its came preinstalled on a new PC and manufacturer unable to resolve.

Thanks
Bill

Hi Bill,

See this, from Rick Rogers

<quote>
Close any/all instances of MSPaint. Then start/run regedit, navigate to this
key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Applets\Paint

Hightlight (click on it) that key and delete it. Close the registry editor
and reopen Paint.

Insert your XP CD, and run this command from Start, Run dialog:

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\accessor.inf, PAINT

( Change the Path to Windows if installed in a different drive than C: )
