Hope this the correct forum so here goes.
Can anyone help.

MSPaint has for some strange reason completely stopped
working. When I try to execute the programme all that
happens is a small window pops up with the message (Paint
has encounteered a problem and needs to close) screen.
I have tried deleting the programme thru control panel
and re-installing and even carried out a system restore
to a previous date but this has made no difference.
Help Please!

Sounds like you've done a good job of trying to repair
the error. One "Common" thing that users forget is to
reboot after an application fault. Sometimes that simple
step will miraculously cause the application to work again.
When I say reboot, I should have said shut down.
Power Off, wait a few seconds and restart.

Thanks for your reply, but I have just found the same
problem question tucked away in another forum and it
solved the problem.
It suggested deleting the registry file
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Applets\Paint

and after doing so I tried Paint again and it works fine.

Thanks Again
