Hello!
I often experience problems with MS Outlook. It has many features
comparing to OE. But, mayby because of its simplicity, OE is more
stable than the MS Outlook. Now at office I have the following
situation with one of the staff. He starts up the MS outlook and it
hangs up when the program starts checking for incoming mails. Then we
shut down the MS Outlook by force and received mail by OE and then
disables the lan card so MS Outlook don't check for incoming email.
Start up MS Outlook and import messages from OE. When we were receiving
mail from OE in its propeties we didn't allow to let the messages in
server, otherwise MS outlook would check again the messages in the
server and hang up again. I know the personal folder of the MS outlook
file is more than 1G, but is this a problem. Is there a way to use
effectively MS outlook?

Thanks in advance,
Askar

try rebooting, removing OE and then rebooting and using outlook, for
whatever reason, they dont seem to like to play with each other. I usually
have this problem with Win2k.

Thanks.
But how MS Outlook and OE can co-exist??!! They're soft of one brand.
They must co-exist! By the way we don't use OE so often. Maybe the
problem with MS Outlook because of its bug..

It sounds like your employee's .pst file is corrupt. Certainly it is way
too big. Here are some links that will help you get Outlook under
control:

http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/oltrble.htm
(and lots of other information at slipstick.com)

http://www.emailaddressmanager.com/outlook/faster-outlook.html

For more questions about Outlook, post in a newsgroup specifically for
that product. Here's one:
microsoft.public.outlook.general

And here's a list of all the MS newsgroups:

I run Outlook 2003 here, and have no problems with it all. It's been
completely stable.

I understand that there were problems in earlier versions with very large
PST files, but I have no specific information. If you don't get a good
answer here, try asking your question in the microsoft.public.outlook
newsgroup.

First, note that OE is part of IE, and IE is part of Windows. You can't
remove it.

Second, everyone who uses Outlook also has Outlook Express installed. Most
people don't have the problems he has. I use both Outlook and Outlook
Express here every day (Outlook for E-mail and its Personal Information
Manager facilities, Outlook Express as my newsreader) without problems.
