ms org chart error msg

Hi all,

I'm trying to edit an org chart in a powerpoint pres. and getting the
message: "The microsoft org chart server application can't be found. Contact
your system administrator to install this server application".
I've seen the posts redirecting everybody to the same page:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00236.htm
I've downloaded and installed the org chart 2.0 app and still get the same
message.
I don't have NAV installed, we use etrust. The pc is a windows xp pro
running on a network with server 2003.
I've also tried to log as a local admin and uninstall powerpoint and org
chart 2.0 and install it again, but didn't help.
Can anybody help me?

Which version of PPT are you using, and what are you doing when you get the
error message?

Hi,

I've got office 2003, powerpoint 2003.
Just trying to open a presentation that has quite a lot of org charts. So
when I double click in one the error message shows up.

Thanks everybody!

Hm. I'm not sure what the issue is, but you maight try disabling etrust and
see if that takes care of it. Also try registering Org Chart after you
install it. The FAQ has info on reregistering Graph, I think -- you'd do Org
Chart the same way (but you'd of course use the Org Chart EXE file).

Hi Echo S,

thanks for your feedback. Yes I did try to disable etrust and did
re-register org chart but in vain, the problem remains.
I'll try a full installation (from image) and see how it goes.

Hi all,

Sorry for delay in comming back. The problem was fixed by deleting some
fonts from the pc. Although the error was different the same solution as in
other cases before has worked.
Many thanks Echo S

Oho, that's interesting. Thanks for coming back with this solution. I'll add
it to the FAQ right away.
