Org Chart from Powerpoint XP cannot be opened in Powerpoint 2003

We have an org chart created in Powerpoint XP that we are unable to edit
after upgrading to Office 2003. I have tried downloading the Org Chart 2.0
tool, etc. and nothing will open it for editing.

Any suggestions? Roberta

When I try to edit the org chart Powerpoint treats it as a group of shapes.
There is no intelligence behind the shapes and the lines are not attached.
The lines and shapes move separately.

It sounds like the chart was either created directly with autoshapes and
lines or it was created as an org chart or diagram and then ungrouped.
Either way, I don't know that there's any way to make it behave like an org
chart again. It's like trying to unmake stew.

Thank you and I like your analogy!

I'll have to credit Steve Rindsberg for that analogy -- it's quite
descriptive, I think!
