Hi folks,I downloaded & installed Office Xp SP 3. It corrupted th
applic. I worked on, so other users couldn't run them. Uninstalled an
re-installed Office, but still get a flag asking if I trust the Activ
X Component about to be initialized, every time I open or save a
applic. that has Userforms with MS Office Spreadsheet 10.0.

I have to click OK, and I get one of such warnings for every "grid
that the application contains!!!

How can I get rid of the flags

I installed SP3 earlier this week and haven't had any problems (I use
userforms in a multi-machine corporate environment, and I'm the only person
so far to install SP3). Did you use the autoupdate feature to make sure all
prior service packs and hotfixes were installed before SP3?
Does it display the name of the ActiveX component it wants to initalize?
What is your system configuration, and do you deploy apps directly to each
machine, or over a network (using zen or some other method).
What references and libraries do you have checked in VBA?

Keith, Thanks for your quick reply. No I didn't use the auto-updat
feature. I just installed the SP 3. In my workplace all our files ar
dumped onto a common server, which is backed-up daily.
The network is supported on windows 2000 NT.
The component in question is the MSOffice Spreasheet 10.
(corresponding to Office XP).
The applications I edited while SP 3 was installed, gave problems i
other users machines to the point that the code simply wouldn't run
When I tried to debug I got errors in awkward places of the code
namely in the definition of a range variable (ff)
in :
ffstring=.........

After I uninstalled and re-installed basic Office (no updates), when
inspect my forms in the VB editor, In the Spreadsheet's objec
properties window, beside the object's name I get the word "deprecated

I tried openenig a newbook, and inserting a userforn with a spreadshee
on it....I still get the annoying flag...

It's getting so messed up, (the flags will pop-up not only on book ope
or userform. show, but also every time it does an autosave or I sav
the application), that I'm considering having my C drive formatte
!!!

I've read a lot of the features that SP 3 "supposedly" incorporates
and I've personally have experienced a lot of the stablity problem
that it should fix, so if you know of any way that would help me mak
it work, I'd be very thankful
At least...someone help me get rid of the flags!!!!:eek
