MS Office Small Business and Outlook 2007 UNINSTALL

Another total *&^*^%-up from Microsoft. After installnig the
Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 and Outlook 2007 trials which, to
me, provide no additional value or functionality, I cannot uninstall
it. I get an error message "The language of this installation package
is not supported by your system." Nothing else, just a big shut down,
and because of this I cannot reinstall Outlook 2003 and have no
functioning email program - thanks, Microsoft.

I've read on this group that those people who can reinstall 2003 have
huge problems getting to their Outlook data.

For now, I need help with step 1: How do I get this piece of *&^*^
software off my machine.

Appreciate any advise.

Ok, I'm not entirely sure this will work, but...

Start notepad.
put this in the blank file:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\12.0\ServerLanguage]
"1033"=""

Save that as a .reg file, can name it whatever you want for the name.
Run it. Try the uninstall

I am uninstalling through the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
Windows XP. I'll try the Installer Cleanup. Thanks.

Which method of uninstalling are you using and on what version of Windows?

If all things fail you can use the Installer Cleanup utility;http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

How would that be related?

It's a cobbling together of two answers I found on google.

First, http://realworldsa.dotnetdevelopersjournal.com/office2007install.htm,
the comment from David Sterling which is, unfortunately, edited by the
blogging engine to remove the [] portion of the .reg file, coupled with
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=469874&SiteID=17,
which I believe referenced the first one, but I might be wrong, I was a
little searched out at that point and may have cross-referenced URLs.

Now, reading
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...d4673a9d2ae/b20681781e54a1b5#b20681781e54a1b5, I
wonder if the path shouldn't be
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\LanguageResources]
and the value PreferredSetupLanguage.
