MS Office: Remove Trial Software ?

A friend bought a Compaq pc that came with trial MS Office software.
We uninstalled it and then installed Office Pro, but it asks for
validation each time. How can the vestiges of the trial software be
removed so the new software can be installed and used?

If you purchased an Upgrade disk instead of a full Retail disk it won't
matter, you need a qualifying previous version installed or the previous version
installation disk to insert during install.

If you have a Retail disk, see if the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility helps
