MS Mail Vista Home Premium - Mail alert FLAG notification

Hi - How do you set this up, so that a "flag" appears next to the e-mail
shortcut when mail arrives? I have set up a the mail "sound" alert but
can't
figure out how to do the "flag" bit - I am sure this feature was part of Ms
Express when I was using Windows XP??
