Okay this is not the second time I am having this issue. The last time I
installed a patch from MS but now what? Reinstall the KB patch??

When isthis going to be fixed properly???

Chances are, this problem keeps recurring because you have not
corrected the root cause: an incompatible antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Gary,

I use Kaspersky and it scans email fine in Windows Mail. So far anyway. ;-)

Kaspersky is a top-notch antivirus product, but since email scanning
is redundant and unnecessary, I would not take a chance with it.
