MS hijacked the browser?

I use another homepage instead of default page which is Microsoft's. But
yesterday when I started my IE, the browser led me to the MS homepage. Now I
used ad-ware to scan if there is any spyware on my computer. The result was
one object found. the type is regdata, data miner, possible hajack browser
attempt.Does it mean that MS hijacked the browser?

In many cases it amounts to the same thing. Doesn't hit everyone but
nearly everytime I update IE6 on a machine the start page gets set to
www.msn.com even when the default startup page is still set to
about:blank. It's not a "hijack" in the usual sense but the effect is
the same.

Of course M$ hijacks the browser, just like they try so hard to hijack our
fair use rights with Windows.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.
