MS force feedback stick

I'm running Win 2000. Have FS98, FS9, and Combat FS. Recently installed
FS9 and everything was working fine. One evening it worked, then the next
day the joystick went as limp as a wet noodle as soon as FS9 started.
Checked the other FS programmes with the same result. The stick seems to be
OK until any of the games actually start -- e.g. at the desktop.

I have a friend who just emailed me with the same problem running FS 2000 on
Win 2000. Another friend checked the stick ona Win 98 system and it worked
fine.

Any one have any suggesttions as to the cause or cure here?

From the FAQ below try this:
After the installation of FS9 go into the Windows Device Manager, find
the Sidewinder and update the driver: choose Sidewinder (auto detect)

Hope it helps...
