I'm getting the following errors from the MS fax service:

Faulting application fxssvc.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830, faulting module
fxstiff.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x0005816e.

Followed by:

The Fax Service encountered a problem and needed to close.
Error Code:0x00000000
This error code indicates the cause of the error.
A Windows Error Report was generated with full details about the problem.
The Fax service will restart now.

I have traced the problem down to the actual Tiff file the MS fax service creates and puts in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax\Queue folder. My application creates a tiff file that I need sent. MS fax service takes my file and processes it to create its own tiff file to send over the fax. The errors happen when the MS fax service tries to read and send the Tiff file it created.

Since i can't control the behavior of the MS fax service is there any way I can setup the Tiff file I create to make the service play nicer with it? Specific resolutions or color palettes perhaps? Or is it possible to skip a step and have it send my applications Tiff file directly without the MS fax service re-processing it to make its own??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
