ms-dos window (program too big to fit in memory)

a lot of programs (such as P2P clients, music mixing
software, winrar) won't start up right. a window pops up
everytime i start a program that looks like an ms-dos
command line window that says "program too big to fit in
memory." i try reinstalling the programs that would mess
up and they would work good up until the next time you
would try to start them up again. if anyone can help,
email me.

First question that pops up when I see that is how much
memory DO you have?

If you're trying to run the things you listed on 128 or
256 MB of RAM, I'm not surprised you'd get that message
(especially with the music software).

Also, do you have virtual memory disabled? This can (and
will) give you problems with a lot of software.

Hope this helps,
