MS-DOS Error

when i try to get into MS-DOS it says
"C:\WINDOWS\_default.pif
Invalid program file name, please check you pif file. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application" Please help!!

I got the same message you did when I double clicked _Default.PIF. The
correct PIF is "C:\windows\system32\Command Prompt.PIF."
You can get to the Command Prompt be clicking Start > Programs >
Accessories > and clicking the Command Prompt ICON. And if all this fails
try this from the Start>Run> and enter the following:
"C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" and click OK. This should bring up DOS.
