ms dos based program

I have a problem while running ms dos based program
this program runs fine in my office pc having windows
xp,but when i try it out at my home pc the dos window
opens for a while and then closes down without giving an
error,i have pc having celeron 1.7 ghz processor,256 mb
ram,intel d 845 glly mother board.i have installed win xp
in c and windows millenium in d .please help.
