MS: Can you please fix the index for this group?

Constantly showing unread messages, even though there are none.
The index for this group is corrupted and needs to be rebuilt.

There appear to be a couple of misunderstandings here:

- This the respondents in this newsgroup are almost exclusively
volunteers. It is rare that an MS employee responds.

- Messages are downloaded to your own PC. The index
is maintained by your PC. If it is corrupted then you
could fix it either by deleting all messages and
starting afresh, or by uninstalling and re-installing your
news reader.

They do, however, check in regularly to read messages.

This same problem pops up from time to time in a MS group,
and is fixed when they rebuild the corrupted index. The index
I'm referring to is stored on MS's news server and has nothing
to do with client software, OE or otherwise.
 
Hmmmm...I have seen no issue here in that respect. Try removing the account and make a new one.
