MS Anti-spyware vs. Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spyware Detection)

I installed both on my computer, and ran them both to see
the kind of spyware they detect. Up to now, when MS Anti-
spyware reports nothing detected, Ad-Aware would turn up
several "data mining" type of spyware.

I know each product has its own philosophy about
what "spyware" is, but seeing one saying "Your are OK!",
while another says, "Here I got another one!" just doesn't
give one a warm feeling. I hear similar result of MS vs.
Skybot.

Any comments?

Thanks.

I have had the same thing happen before MS released AntiSpy.
It happened in test situations when running Ad-Aware and Spybot.

I am of the opinion, and always tell clients, their is no magic bullet when it comes to spyware detection / removal.

As for the lack of cookie detection:
I like that this current beta does not scan / report cookies.
Why?
I feel most companies add them to their scan total to make their tool look more impressive.
When in fact all the tool would have to do is simply clear the cache / cookies and be done with it...no fanfare over cookie detection / removal.
