MS Access 2003 and MS Access 97

P

Peter

I am using MS Access 97 and MS Office 97 ODE for
distributing Access application.

I would like to know is there any problem if I install MS
Access 2003 on my machine ? Does MS Office 97 ODE Setup
Wizard still works fine ?

Thanks

As Alex stated the two will co-exist fine on the same machine. It is
important to keep them in totally separate directories, and you should also
rename the msaccess.srg file to something like: msaccess.old and make a new
empty Notepad (text) file and name it msaccess.srg. This will keep Access 97
from silently re-registering itself as the associated app with msaccess.exe.
Putting a shortcut to each executable in your SendTo folder will allow you
to start either one easily by simple right-clicking on the file and sending
it to the proper version.

To add to Alex and Arvin's comments. There are some co-existence
problems between the ODE 97 and MOD 2000 and 2002. But not between
Access itself.
