MPG on Powerpoint

I am trying to get a Movie to run on Power Point. I got the .mpg file from my
old laptop that was running Power Point 2003 and my new laptop has Power
Point 2003.

I Insert the Movie from a File into a blank slide and tell it to run
Automatically. I then run the presentation and the screen remains blank
(movie does not run). If I move to the next slide (with some simple text on
it) then go back to the slide with the movie and Click on the movie then the
movie runs as expected.

So, my problem is that the mpg file does not run when I first enter a slide
even though I configured it as Automatic.

I ended up using PFCMEDIA and it works - looks like they create a WMV file
out of the MPG and copies it to the same folder as the presentation. Works
good, but seems like something that should have been transferable from laptop
to laptop without converting every video.
