MPG in powerpoint 2003 problem

T

Tony

Powerpoint 2003 crashes everytime I try to view a
slideshow with a .mpg video file. When the slideshow
arrives to the slide with the movie inserted in it,
powerpoint crashes. Powerpoint can play .avi's just fine,
but it crashes each time it plays a .mpg.

Is this a bug in powerpoint? Or is another program i have
installed causing it? I would really appreciate any help,
this problem is driving me crazy to no end. Thanks.

Try playing the MPG file in Media Player (not Windows Media Player) and let
us know if it works.

To run Media Player in Windows XP, click the Start menu | Run and then type
mplay32.exe

Hello,

If you have a sample *.MPG (less than 1 MByte in size) which exhibits this
problem in PowerPoint 2003, I would be glad to have testing look at it to
determine whether there is a known root cause or it's something new.

Just send it to me at the following address (after unscrambling) with the
