Mpegs no longer launch Media Player...?

Howdy,

Now, when I click on a link to an Mpeg, I get a dialog
asking if I want to Open, or Save the file.

I would prefer the Mpeg to simply launch Media Player rather
than seeing the dialog.

How can I get that setting back?

Sincere thanks,

Tools - Folder Options - File Types - mpeg - opens with.

Set it to open with Media Player

Click OK.

Hi Bob,

I am having the problem in Internet Explorer.

I took your suggestion to be in Windows Explorer, but found
that, as I expected, the setting was already correct.

Please note that when in IE the dialog does not ask what I
want to use to open the file, instead, it asks if I want to
Open, or Save the file. That is the dialog I wish to bypass.

Any further thoughts?

Sincere thanks,

Hi again,

I have a bit more information:

If the link is to an MPV file, Windows Media player launches
immediately.

If, instead, the link is to an MPG or an MPEG, the dialog
opens asking me if I want to Save, or Open the file.

It is that dialog that I wish to suppress, but I cannot find
any setting to do the deed.

Can you assist?

Thanks,
