I have some small MPEG files (*.DAT). When I played them using Media
Player Classic with K-lite Codec pack, the gamma was too bright. How
could I fix it? Is it the problem of ffdshow?

VideoLAN (VLC) from http://www.videolan.org/ will allow you to change
the gamma while playing the file. The slider control is in the Settings
Menu > Extended GUI > Gamma slider.

For a more permanent solution, you can change the gamma in the file and
then save the altered file by using VirtualDub from
http://www.virtualdub.org/index. "The ability to apply video filters to
a video is one of VirtualDub's more powerful features. This allows
application of a number of algorithms to improve the quality of a
video, including noise reduction, blurring, sharpening,
brightness/contrast, and gamma correction."

If anyone knows how to change the gamma using Media Player Classic all
by itself, please jump in here with the answer. I'd like to know if MPC
can change gamma too.

Hope that helps.
