Cannot play an mpeg movie file. Need codec. Can you help.
I've tried updating windows media player and no updates
are available. Thanks.

Most likely it's an MPEG-2 file. you will need to buy a software DVD player
to obtain that codec.

I got the file from my Sony GIGA Pocket recording.
Then converted it to MPEG. Plays on home PC but not on my
laptop. Need it to play on my laptop.

What did you convcert the file with at work? Thats what you would need to
install at home to have the same codec.
